I'm wondering on the new Apple TV, there's the 32 and 64 gb version. How quickly do you think the 32gb version will fill up? I'm guessing any music can be in the cloud through your laptop or phone or what have you, right? So is the memory going to be used mainly for downloaded games and apps like Netflix, Hulu, etc? They can't be that big in size.

Games may be the bigger Apps. No App can be larger then 200mb when first downloaded. Then it can not exceed more then 2.2GB once you start using it. After you start using it, it will need to swap out chunks if it needs more then 2.2gb. The current ATV 3 has 8gb. Which means it will download only 1 movie at a time. If you plan to have say 10 Games that are the full size they will need 20.2gb (assuming once downloaded they stay until the memory is needed). If my wish comes true they will allow downloading multiple movies (like on iPad) so kids that want to say watch the same movie over and over it can just stay local on the ATV. I prefer to not use Home Sharing unless required.

I plan to buy the 64gb version no matter how many I buy.

Just buy the 32GB to be safe, unless you're really into horrible Wii like games, I don't see storage space being an issue

People forget, 99% of Wii games were shovel ware crap games for motion controller, I see it being no difference with this

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I don't really plan on putting any games on it really. I only will be using it for Netflix, Plex, Hulu, and movie watching. Does it have an Airplay through laptop type thing? Can I share my macbook screen or something?

I'm sure it does, AirPlay is one of the biggest features of an Apple TV

Awesome, I've never owned one. So I should be fine with the 32 gb version if I have one or two games and just used Netflix and Hulu, right?

The ATV4 isn't like any other computer. It's designed (and it's ecosystem is designed) to automatically swap out and manage storage as required. So it won't "fill up" whatever size you get. If you have tons of apps (particularly games with large amounts of data such as textures) and you swap between them regularly, you will eventually notice on the 32Gb that booting new games is slow as parts of them need to be re-downloaded. This will be less common on the 64Gb (but will still happen eventually if you run out of space). So it depends upon your use case. Personally I am nowhere near the storage limit with my ATVs that are all 32Gb.

So yes, for the apps you mention, and a whole lot of other ones you will bump into, the 32Gb will be absolutely fine.
