It varies greatly: some less than 1 MB and others above 100.

You can look for yourself; the app store is up and running through iTunes (v. 7.7 required).

The size is listed in the Store along with the app. Most of them are pretty small. As a benchmark, AIM is about 500K; AOL Radio is 300K, and Truveo Video Search is about 200K.
