I have 11 pro and am trading in and getting 12 pro, but now i am reading on forums suddenly about "flickering issues" and "Green tint" issues. are these really widespread? should i be worried?

Don't trade in your 11 Pro before getting the 12 Pro. Get the 12 Pro and compare it to your 11 Pro. If you don't like what you see on the 12, return it. If you do — then trade in or sell your 11

this is very wise advice. nothing to lose.

nothing to lose by seeing how you like or dislike the flat sides, and size change too from 11 pro

I upgraded from the XS to 12 Pro and by and large preferred the XS. 12 Pro offers better battery life, but that's about it. I got a great promotional value for my XS... otherwise I'd have stuck with the XS.

What did you prefer about the XS? I have an XS now and was thinking of upgrading to a 13 this fall, so perhaps more opinions will change my mind.

It feels as if the iphone 12 pro suffers from great spec'd parts + poor software integration. List of complaints that behooved me vs. the XS:

1. the camera on the 12 pro is finickey, it often reproduces images that look overly sharpened and the colors do not look realistic. There's also an issue when focusing up close when the phone switches between cameras and can't decide which to use.

2. the screen on the 12 pro (or at least more than a handful) has a yellow tint to it and it's made worse by true-tone. When compared to the XS, I found the XS screen to be preferable.

3. iphone 12 Pro is noticeably heavier and larger, I very much preferred the sleeker form factor of the XS (again some trade-off here because of the larger battery).

#1 -3 aside, I do appreciate the more robust battery life of the 12 Pro... but that's about it.

ok no one is answering my question. everyone is talking about not upgrading. can anyone chime in about the display issue, the green tint/raised blacks

If you have it it’s bad - there’s countless pages documenting what to expect if you get a bad panel

if you don’t it’s not. I think you’ve gotten plenty of feedback

no one can ensure what you’ll receive given it’s a panel lottery

hence the recommendations to upgrade and only
Trade if and only after the new device meets your satisfaction visually are good ones

other things to consider too like form factor and size change

The green tint issue was addressed in the second reply to your original post.

Corrected my post, been fixed for most people, hopefully it’ll be fixed for everyone else once iOS 14.5 is released, if it’s not fixed, people who still have the issue will most likely get a replacement from apple.

As far is this Pro Max user is concerned there are no display issues. I see no green tint or any colour tint, although I have nothing to do with Night Shift or True Tone. I don't know what raised blacks are but I'm sure I don't have them, the display is fine.
