Was just curious how bright every one sets their iPad display to? I tend to rock maxed out unless I need some extra time for a really long day when I would turn it down.

Im always surprised at the people who can use it at full brightness. My eyes just cant handle it for that long.
Im usually around 50% or even lower..

I've got my brightness set around 45%. Anything more and the screen is almost too bright. Actually at 100% the screen is just too bright for me.

Mine is at about 65% brightness but I turn it down a little if the room is dark. My iPad at 65% brightness is much brighter than my 2006 macbook pro at 100% brightness at this point.

    At night...0% (lowest)

    Regular usage...40-55%

Anything more than that, I can't handle. Anything less, screen looks dead (except when I'm in the dark, then even at 0%, it's bright :D).

To those of you who can max out: . My eyes can't take that kind of brightness. Yes, the screen is amazing, but you can honestly sit for extended periods of time (hours, like I do) with your iPad and be a-ok? Plus it drains your battery faster and thus your battery life over the years. ;)

About 20% and at night 0% and it still a bit too bright then. In fact the only time I've ever gone to 100% was outdoors in bright sunshine.

About 60% during the day, 40% at night and around 30% for iBooks. I do wish brightness control was a bit better.

Usually 30-40% - I'd rather have a longer battery life than a bright screen

Agreed. I rarely ever go over 50%, and drop to 0% quite often.

We all know this means nothing.
I keep mine all the way down, unless I'm outside or in a very bright room.

Usually 0% around the house and always in a dim room or ar night. In a bright room when I'm walking around with my iPad and having to glance at notes for business (meaning further away from from face) 20-50 %. And on the fairly rare occasion I use it outside always 100%.

These moderate settings are not only what my eyes prefer, but they're awesome for battery life. It's been getting through an hour or two of usage in the morning and then heavy usage (more than 75% of the time on) for a twelve hour work day. I've been bringing my power cord with me just in case for a coupe of days, and haven't needed it yet.
