I dont have an iPhone yet, waiting for the june revision (assuming its accurate).. But I was curious as to how bright the iphone can get in complete darkness? IE do those flashlight apps put out a significant amount of light if you have your brightness up to full? Thanks!

Depends on what you want the light for. It certainly is bright enough so you can see where you are walking in a darkened room. I wouldn't want to try to do fine work with its light, though.

Actually, for lighting a path in the dark, you don't need a flashlight application. Just turn it on.

I have used the iPhone home screen multiple times to guide myself up the stairs of my house in complete darkness to keep from waking others. I am sure a flashlight app would be brighter than just the home screen, but I have never wasted my time to download one.

I did -- it's useless. The home screen works find to make your way through a dark room.
