And don't bother calling clueless CSRs, constantly reload the order status page, freak out about backorders, etc. The AT&T site will likely not even be caught up with the actual order status. The CSRs don't know more than you already know. They can't walk in a storage room and count phones to tell you if you for sure will get one.

So just have a drink, stay off Macrumors and the AT&T site, and your little box will be there on your from porch launch day (maybe).

Give it a week guys

I always preorder from AT&T, every single time the dates change closer to actually release date

Last year i ordered a day after pre orders opened and got a date of 2 months out, still got phones on first available date

Point being, give them sometime to catch up, they usually deliver on time
Wait so I was given a ship date of 10/16 but you're saying this could get moved closer to September?

This is my first time pre-ordering so thanks for any information

Well when you "type words" that essentially tell people that they're acting like impatient children who don't understand simple facts about life, I would imagine that your intent, conscious or subconscious, is to ruffle a few feathers while demonstrating your own heightened sense of practicality and patience.

Look at my original post, simply stated people are acting like the world is coming to an end because they are not receiving their phone on launch day. Not sure how that is "ruffling feathers"

It's their own product. They have more stock than anyone else. A certain amount of phones are allocated to carriers, and other third party sellers, beforehand, they don't all come from the same pool.

That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if AT&T's estimates are wrong. From what I understand, even the first people who ordered got a ship date of October which would mean Apple allocated 0 launch unite for them. That would be highly unlikely unless they are really trying to push their new upgrade program.

If I'm on a family share plan, which option is better for me, the NEXT installments or 2 year contract? and why?
