Perhaps much like you, since Apple began saving all of our log in info I now have hundreds of logins to numerous websites but also have dozens of accounts that I’ve changed the passwords for so using Touch ID to try to log into these sites no long works.

I’m wishing I could just review all of my saved log in infos much like how 1password used to work ten years ago when I last used it.

I’m wondering if Keychain access on MBP would solve this or if there’s a manner of which I’m missing within iOS.

I guess I’m asking for easiest way to see all my log in info and delete accounts I no longer need and also to modify old passwords and update them. I don’t care if it’s within iOS or macOS but get the feeling it’ll be easier on macOS.

If your passwords are linked in iCloud, it’ll be easy to cull out the cruft from your iPhone for all your devices that use iCloud contacts.

Just go to Settings > Passwords.

Gain access either with FaceID or TouchID and then go at it. Edit button is at the top. Edit to your heart’s content.

I prefer a good password manager as it’s easier to manage a large password store. My manager of choice is 1Password for a number of reasons, mainly family sharing. There are other good choices depending on your needs.

Isn’t 1password like subscription based now?

I bought 1password way back in like 2008-ish and loved it. But for one reason or another that I can’t recall right now I decided to abandon it, similar to DayOne Journal. I still have the original DayOne on both iOS and MacOSX which is compatible and works well, i don’t need whatever newer features it offers.

I’m just not a fan of subscription based stuff. Which is why I won’t get Hulu or Netflix or anything like that.

it really simplifies sharing passwords between my wife and me. We have our passwords available on 12 devices.
That’s the biggie. We use it very similarly and never have to worry if an account’s details - password, PIN number, security questions, etc. - are on one device or another. Filling in credit card fields is also a big advantage since 1Password fills in security codes as well which Safari does not.

There are a few password managers out there. I recall when 1Password had just started and was asking its fanbase to vote it app of the year. Times have changed and it is a big time player now. Perhaps going over to Youtube and you can see videos on various password managers including 1 time pay and even free usable managers.

Well worth the $. Tells you about compromised websites and duplicate passwords.
To be fair iCloud Keychain passwords does as well, not in as much detail though. Years ago when iCloud was dot Mac I had a paid subscription. One of the features was keychain/password syncing. When Apple migrated to Me.com from dot Mac they dropped keychain support. That’s what led me to 1Password which has added even more useful features since. Yes there is a cost but we were paying $100/year for the dot Mac subscription.

1Password is well worth it to have a system that is consistently updated and not subject to the vagaries of iOS updates and the inconsistencies that all of us have at times with iCloud. Plus the developers are immediately available for any issues that can be quickly resolved without waiting for a new iOS release.
