In previous versions of OS X, I was able to change the VNC port simply by editing a plist file in Terminal. When I attempted to do this in El Capitan, I was unable to save the edited plist file because it is restricted by the new SIP (System Integrity Protection).

Does anyone know of a workaround? Thanks in advance.

reboot into recovery mode (command-R); open terminal (under utilities). type csrutil disable
    then, after confirmation, type reboot
edit your plist. when you're done, reboot into recovery, open terminal, type csrutil enable
then reboot, and SIP is enabled, and your file will be as you changed it.
