It is very tiny and not intrusive in any way so I'm not sure why you really care - just ignore it.....oh yeah!

Just a mention that this icon i unnecessary if you are using a mice with scroll wheel. Holding down right button of the mice and scrolling the wheel will do the same job as that button.
