menubar notification = possible workaround

I just installed notify.app and it appears to do the trick in terms of notifications and it is running in the background so when I press command + tab, it is as if it is hidden -- which is what I want. I would like to try another menubar app that works better with yahoo imap. Is anyone in this forum using something other than notify.app?

Here are what I have found to be the best solutions for Snow Leopard: MacBiff (menubar notifier) and Notify (menubar notifier). I have been unable to get MailCue 2.0.4 and/or a license because the developers discontinued the project earlier this year -- (I wish I would have bought a copy a few months ago).

got what I want and I love the way you take things precisely

I originally googled the key words like running in background, mac, mail etc. and I found this post. I got what I want. And thank you guys' efforts.

I think I'm done then, but after I read all your replies and rectifications, I think I should leave some words here,

To thank you all. Without the guys like you, without the attitude of being precise, the beginners or the people who has lack of knowledge in the realm of some concepts cannot easily be an expert in the future. :)
