I just got a refurb MBP. It did not come with iLife 08, and I would like it. My friend got a new iMac today and he let me borrow the installation discs. I tried the "show hidden files" terminal command, and it did not work. How can I install iLife 08 from another computer's install disc?

I've heard of people hacking it off of the disc, if it's on the disc, there must be a way..

Install disks are machine specific, so an iMac disk would not work in a MBP. Plus, each disk only grants a license to be installed on the machine that the disk shipped with.

There is a quick easy way, I'm quite sure you will find it on another website.

Sorry

You're right. I shouldn't talk about piracy, it's not right, and I don't intend to do it. I will just buy a copy of iLife 08. Thanks anyway, and I apologize if I violated anything.
