How can i install Pro Tools to external hard drive???

Can someone please help me? I have a Mac OS x 10.4.8 and have just got Pro Tools for Mac OS x intel version 7.1.1 but it won't let me install the program on to my external hard drive. How can i do this without installing Pro Tools on my startup drive?

why do you want to do that?

keep the app on your startup disc

and your projects on the external

But remember ...

In ProTools...

Open WORKSPACE and set your macintosh HD to P|P only and your external disc to R|R

There are a few bugs with 7.3 which if your not careful will have your audio deposited all over the place (especially when using user templates).
