iPod touch How can I mute sound easily?

Other than using the side volume control, is there a quick way to mute the iPod Touch with, say, a single button push?

I'd find it useful to turn off the sound overnight.

Nope. There isn't a vibrate/silent switch like there is on the iPhone. Perhaps Cydia contains some answers here?
