Open Cydia and look a the very top to see if there is any SHSH save or run TU on your PC and find out.

Thanks for the response. I'm no sure what "TU" on my PC is but I took a screenshot of Cydia on the phone:

Does this mean I have all these SHSHs saved? SHSH: iOS 4.0, 4.01, 4.1, 4.2.1+, 4.3 . Could it help me with an issue I'm having?

I bought this iPhone 3gs for my wife last August and at the the time, the latest firmware was able to be jailbroken and unlocked (using on t-mobile). Lately the phone's been freezing up a lot and I want to take it to the Apple store (it does have applecare). The thought was that we couldn't take it in until the latest FW is both able to be jailbroken and unlocked in case they swap it out with a replacement 3gs.

But perhaps I could just restart it from scratch to whatever the latest version is that is unlockable if I have these SHSH saves? or is that not how they work? Her phone is currently Version 4.0 (8A293) / Modem Firmware 05.13.04
