Where is Addressbook data stored? How can I back it up w/Time Machine? Thank you for your help!

Your thread title ask about restoring your Addressbook data but then your post asks how to backup Addressbook? Which question did you need answered?

I'll assume that the thread title is what you were asking. All you have to do is open up Addressbook and type in the search box what Vcard you are looking for, if it's not there or you need to restore the whole Addressbook just run Time Machine and make sure that Addressbook is the active window and that's it.

Your Address Book info is stored in /Users/<yourusername>/Library/"Application Support"/"Address Book"

To back it up, back up that folder. To restore, put the back up of that folder in place.

Time Machine should be backing it up automatically anyway...

I got to this point and found the card that I am looking for. However, how do I restore this card? I clicked on Restore while the card is being selected, but the Time Machine just took me back to the present, and the card is not added....

thats normal. after you press restore time will move forward to the present but the file (contact in this case) will stay on the screen and be added to the present.

did it ask you for your password? if so it should have been restored.

contact

So, my father went in the hospital.. and i added the number to the hospital to his contact on my iphone (which is synched via mobile me to my macs)
The other day, i got a new number direct to his room and i switched the number to that one. However, now i want the first number so i can talk to the doctors and nurse in the triage. I goto time machine with the contact open in address book... and no matter how far i traverse back, the hospital number is the most recent one and doesn't change to the one i had on there a couple days prior.... as a matter of fact, the hospital number is STILL on the contact card even if i traverse back a month.. (when the number most certainly wasn't anywhere on my computer)

wtf?

I am running 10.6.3

If the display is "frozen," showing the same thing in all backups as the "Now" page, it's a known problem on Snow Leopard. See #E5 in http://web.me.com/pondini/Time_Machine/Troubleshooting.html

Thankyou thankyou thankyou! I had it all working perfect until I setup Outlook 2011 & asked it to sync. Well, it did & erased my whole address book  Now I have it back! Woot :)
