How can I tether a laptop TO a Verizon 3G iPad 2?

My Dad is thinking of getting a Verizon MiFi hotspot or a Verizon 3G iPad 2. I'm trying to sway him to the iPad, but he wants to be able to also connect his laptop from time to time.

Is there a way to tether a laptop to a Verizon 3G iPad 2? Thanks!

Jailbreak it and use mywi. Also I think you need to sign a contract for the mobile hotspot and the iPad you don't.

Thanks for the tips. Does Verizon care though if you tether?

For the hotspot, my Dad said there is also an option to buy the device for $300, but then you are not locked into the contract. Based on that, that's why I suggested an ipad with 3G since he may be plunking down for a device anyway.
