Hey guys, I am 15, and I brush my teeth every day at night, but they are still extremely yellow for some reason. I use the expensive toothpaste, and brush for atleast 2 minutes each time.

Is there anyway I can make them whiter? I heard mixing hydrogen peroxide and baking soda together and brushing with that can whiten your teeth?

I'm assuming you mean day AND night because subjecting the world to morning breath all day isn't going to be very good for anyone? :D

Use mouthwash before brushing.

Use toothpicks every time you eat steak, nachos or anything that can get clogged between your teeth.

Chew sugar free gum after drinking anything fizzy.

You should be fine.

Also, you didn't say whether you already have bondings on your teeth? If they yellow or were put in at a yellower color to match your teeth at a time when they were yellower, the bondings won't whiten with peroxide. The only option is to whiten your teeth first and then have your dentist replace the bonding to match the lighter color.

And yet Fluoride is a poison. 2 grams may be enough to kill someone. Brushing one time a day is sometimes enough to exceed your safe daily intake rate, depending how well you brush and be careful. If you accidentally ingests it, you have exceed it. I know that from someone that actually got sick from water with fluoride in it that he was drinking in Alberta province (Canada).

Haha. This is a joke right?

2 grams may be fatal but toothpaste comes in 100ml containers. The amount of fluoride per container is probably a single digit percentage of that amount.

You would most likely need to use a significant number of tubes of toothpaste for it to even come close to fatal levels. How many times do you brush your teeth using 3 or more entire tubes of toothpaste?

Flouride conspirators are the same as Autistic Vaccination nuts.

I dont get the reasoning behind believing you could be slowly poisoning yourself by drinking town water and brushing your teeth ANY number above one time a day. (tell ANY dentist you only brush once a day, they wont be happy)

The holier-than-thou idea of being able to say "Blech! You use toothpaste with flouride in it? You drink tap water!? You dont know what youre doing to yourself...allow me to spout unfounded and unsubstantiated speculation on facts for the past few decades" is grossly overrated.

brush your teeth in the morning, eat trident whitening gum during the day, brush your teeth at night after eating/drinking. make sure you hit the 3 minute mark. i usually go 2 applications of toothpaste before i'm done.

stay away from all soda, coffee and smoking (which shouldn't be a problem on the latter considering you're 15) and your teeth will whiten up.

you can also find some cheap whitening solutions. just ask your mom. tell her you're embaressed and ALL THE COOL KIDS make fun of you. i know they don't but it will make her buy you some i bet haha

Now that is naive;) loads of 15 year olds smoke:)

well hopefully he isn't i picked up the nasty habbit when i was 14 - although I BLAME IT ON MY SURROUNDINGS :)

4 years later i am here and nicotine free, oh and drug free if that counts.

never really had the yellow teeth problem though - more of a 3 times a day brusher kinda guy

I take pride in my teeth.

I've had them professionally bleaches twice, and I use Whitestrips Supreme for top ups.

I've also had veneers to get that 'perfect' smile on the few critters who weren't totally in line (3 left.. once I find a job in this damn economy :()

Anyway..

Go to a dentist. Get Zoom. Not Zoom 1, specify Zoom 2.

Then, order Crest Whitestrips Supreme from eBay.

And buy Sensodyne toothpaste.

I used to drink loads of coke as a teenager in school, started smoking weed at 15, followed by cigarettes soon after. The weed, I could take or leave on an off since but the cigarettes I ended up quitting by 17 and then starting again at nearly 19 till I was 25. I've quit since but because of all the coke and fizzy drinks when I was younger, I had to have a few tooth coloured fillings. Years after quitting smoking, they look fake because my teeth are back to a more natural white colour now and I need some serious dental work on the old fillings to match the exact tone of my teeth now.

Actually - They are up to ZOOM 3 now. For the OP, the reason this is significant is b/c the later versions of ZOOM seem to make your teeth less sensitive right after the treatment. My experience at least.

Really?

I doubt mine will go yellow anytime soon, seriously, :)

But for a first timer, what are the benefits, just stronger or less sensitive?

I know 2 vs 1 made you less sensitive and was a little faster. I think 3 just further improves on that. I am having 3 done sometime before my wedding - my sister in law to be is a dentist :) I should be able to give a comparison from 2 to 3 after that.

Hi,

the same happened with me. Did laser whitening a couple of years ago. dull procedure but worked. Now I have the impression that the teeth are not as white as they were immediately after the treatment. sucky.
Wear yellow shirts instead of white and live on :)
