Hi, just wondering.

how can you take a snippet of audio from a dvd (eg film) or from say a divx or xvid movie file on your hard drive. ... and say save it as mp3 or wav file.

As a whole, and as a user definded section of the movie file/dvd.

can someone break down the basic options on how to do this?
can built in mac apps do this?
quicktime? VLC player? pro tools? toast? idvd or ilife etc

for either pc or mac. Preferably mac as i use it more.

thanks

sorry. i should have done some searching.

Audio Hijack sounds like it can do the trick.

Others: wiretap pro, handbrake, 0sex, ffmpeg

Dont like the long winded converting, ripping, encoding, multiple app process.
Audio hi jack seems most flexible, eg play a movie and hit record as and when on the fly to get a snippet of audio.
