How can you run Jailbreakme on an Unactivated iPhone

Since JailbreakMe is a browser based jailbreak, how is it possible for somebody to jailbreak an unactivated iPhone if you cannot even access the springboard?

the answer is not possible. at least you have to activate your iPhone in order to jailbreak it..

It does work. Just connect the phone to iTunes with the SIM inside. Don't click anything. The phone will activate within a few seconds. Dissconnect the phone and remove the SIM. Voilà.
