On Apple's website if you compare the iOS 5 phone compatibility picture to the iOS 6 picture we could have seen Apple removing the YouTube app coming...

iOS 5:

iOS 6:

:apple:

Title should say, how come no one ever notice this... not never. lol I got excited there.

It was still present in the iOS 6 betas until beta 4.
The YouTube app was just moved to the second page.

But the YouTube app is normally in-between the video app and the maps app. Why would Apple all of the sudden change, and put the YouTube app at the end so the new Passport app would bump it to the second? That makes no sense? Unless Apple knew YouTube wasn't going to be included in the final version of iOS 6...

Not that they didn't know, because obviously it was not a spur-of-the-moment decision, but...that doesn't really prove anything.

If YouTube wasn't being removed, it would make perfect sense that an app that is likely to be centerpiece of the "big feature" of the coming new iPhone (NFC) would take precedence over an old app, for a third-party service, that hasn't been updated in years.

Yeah. This thread is all about the YouTube app icon not appearing in those images but the simple explanation was just that they had moved the icon to the second page. If you had made this thread before beta 4 that's all everyone would have said and it wasn't something that you can really say strongly indicated that YouTube was getting the chop.

Sure, maybe it seems obvious to you now but not really pre-beta 4. After all, why'd they leave it in the first 3 beta's at all?
