My mother is in need of a new laptop and I'd like to get her a MB, but I'm a bit worried about the bottom bubbling.
Is it super common? a 1 in 200 type of thing?
If I get it should I also just order a spare bottom?
Any ways to help prevent it?

Bottom bubbling? I haven't' really heard of this problem. If you're referring to the battery, it isn't very likely. Just purchase the 3 year apple care warranty when you get the laptop and you'll be fine 🙂

Yeah it's not very common at all, usually Apple will just replace it for free if it does happen, but it's very rare.

They will likely only replace it if you are under warranty, so I would recommend getting the extended AppleCare plan.
