Issue being you are assuming all the devices cost the same to produce, and sell for the same price. The average sale price is just that.

A fruitless exercise I would have thought.

You don't ever get bored by building strawmen do you?

On sales of 6Bn Euro - Nokia are making 600M profit. That's a 10% average across the board. It is likely that the margins on the LOW END phones are even thinner.

What's worse is that 600M profit is dragged down to just 300M by loss-making parts of the business. Within a year, this could be a loss-making business. Which would be a tragedy for the staff and investors. But it's not their fault right?

Well you don't get bored with making things up...

So in a quarter they made a 600M profit. I thought you said they were running at a loss? And I don't care about their investors, I haven't got money in Nokia, Apple, or anyone else for that matter.

No in the quarter they made $300M euro profit after other losses.

I never said they made a loss.

Facts not your strong point?

If this continues they *will* be making a loss inside a year. That means lay offs and downsizing. You might not care, but thousands of workers out of a job is a bit of a tragedy to me.

Incompretent management has consequences for peoples lives.

Apple just needs to be careful...if it hadn't had the much better screen and cams, people would have taken them back in flocks.

You didn't say it directly, but you implied it. You said you need to innovate to make profits, and then said Nokia didn't innovate.

Facts not your strong point?

Yes they are, just like whinging is your strong point.

Well since you are Mr Fact Man, you would know that of the three divisions Nokia has, two are making good profits, and one is the best in the industry. You would have also known that Nokia has make changes to the third one (remember they only own 50% of it) and it performed a lot better in the last quarter, and has also just announced large changes as well. But since you don't like facts, you will just ignore them like usual.

Look, we know you hate Nokia, and think the sun shines out of Apples butt. That is fine, I don't care, just stop with your almighty I am better than you attitude.

Yeah, because Apples huge profits are changing a lot of peoples lives...

More so it should show you how badly Apple rips off their customers.

Also Apple is forcing their carriers to foot the bill on bigger discounts for the phones.

I am waiting for the Others to start demanding the carriers to eat the $400 discount that the iPhone is getting compared to their $300 for other phones.

You can't rip-off the willing.
