How did Apple do this? - Keynote

In the latest keynote, at position 1:06:50, Apple uses a transition from a frontal iPad to an iPad on the side.

Has anyone any suggestions on how Apple did this with the new keynote?

Just a guess:

They rendered the iPad in some sort of 3D modeler and exported the movements as quicktime movies. Phil clicked to step through each segment of the view.
