On my Macbook Pro, (which I just got) whenever I minimized any window it goes down really cool. Like a vertex something. Yeah, that's the best way I can describe it. Now, it's going down just regular and boxy, and I don't know what I did. I don't have any idea how I changed the settings, but I can't get them back. I've looked in the system preferences, Safari prefs, etc. Help.

System Preferences, Dock, Minimize using: and then pick Genie. That's... default...

You've switched from the genie minimize effect to the scale effect. You can switch it back under the Dock pane in System Preferences.

I was responding because I've never seen this effect the OP describes as making the Window minimise like an angular point of a polygon or polyhedron or other figure. 😛
Just kidding.
System preferences -> dock -> genie effect.
No.... if you want slow, hold the shift key down when you "minimize" the window. Also when you "unminimize" it...

Works for a bunch of different things, you won't break anything if you hold the shift key down while trying things. I least I don't think you'll break anything.... 🙂
