Looking at this and it's very tempting, but I would probably want to max out the RAM. I'm pretty literate when it comes taking things apart/putting things together/following directions so I suppose you can take that into consideration.

    Thanks :apple:

It's very easy. Just remove a screw under the chin of the iMac and remove a metal plate. Then put in more ram or replace the ram that's already in it.

Very easy and it takes less than 5 minutes.
Instructions are on iFixIt and the User Guide coming with your iMac or which are available on http://support.apple.com/manuals.

Thanks guys, I just checked out the guide and ifixit, definitely easier than anticipated, this is good news.

One last question, is the listed supported RAM on Apple's website accurate? Or is it possible to upgrade this model with more? I know often times Apple's listings of maximum supported RAM are off, at least with the MacBooks.

I think that iMac can take up to 16Gb of ram.

Super easy to install new memory-- just make sure you push it in until it clicks--- push it harder than you think you should.

I got Crucial memory (from amazon since it was cheaper).

    Enjoy!
