It's very easy. Just remove a screw under the chin of the iMac and remove a metal plate. Then put in more ram or replace the ram that's already in it.
 
Thanks guys, I just checked out the guide and ifixit, definitely easier than anticipated, this is good news.

One last question, is the listed supported RAM on Apple's website accurate? Or is it possible to upgrade this model with more? I know often times Apple's listings of maximum supported RAM are off, at least with the MacBooks.
 
Super easy to install new memory-- just make sure you push it in until it clicks--- push it harder than you think you should.

I got Crucial memory (from amazon since it was cheaper).
