On iPad Today, they mentioned not only does it use space on Photo Stream, but also on your iPad/iPhone. Look in settings under usage and then photos and camera, it lists how much space Photo Stream is using on the device. It's grouped right in withecamera roll and photo library.

Wait, I got wrong information from MR?! :)

Thanks for pointing that out. I have edited my post above.

I tried it when Photo Stream was released but I use the same iCloud ID on my phone and both of my iPads and I didn't want the same pictures to show up on all three. Plus, I never liked that they delete after 30 days or so.

I read somewhere that the Photostream pictures use your iCloud storage, not the storage on the device. I am not sure if that is 100% true.

However, I have the 16gb rMini, I have six Photostreams shared with my wife. It is not taking up any space on the rMini, so there seems to be some truth to it.

EDIT: Turns out I was wrong :)

You read somewhere 100% correctly, PhotoStream uses iCloud storage. :apple:

I have a 32 gig iPhone and 32 gig iPad for different reasons. Went with the 32 gig iPhone for music storage. Don't have any music on my iPad, but opted to for the larger size so I can load movies and archive my magazine subscriptions. I'll delete the movies after a trip and re-download what I want to watch (only have a wifi iPad, so streaming on a trip isn't an option).
