Hi Everyone,

I use the Gmail app on my iPhone. Changing the notification sound is easy, and there are about 12 stock gmail sounds to choose from ... but I'd like to have Gmail use one of my downloaded sounds if possible.

Is there a way to add new sounds to the Gmail app for iPhone? Does anyone know where the sounds are stored and if the location is accessible?

Tyvm!

A few things…

System sound files are here: /System/Library/Audio/UISounds

But. No one has access to that. There are third party computer based apps that perhaps might allow access, but to get unrestricted access you need to jailbreak and install a file system browser. With that, you'd also be able to access the GMail app's file structure as well, although the devs generally tend to protect that inside the actual compiled app (which you'd need to uncompile).

Or…just add sounds in the approved stock method that Apple provides, such as through iTunes or however it's done now that iTunes has been removed on Mac.

No guarantee that this would make them available to the GMail app though.
