    Try SafariSort

I don't believe there is way to alphabetically sort Safari's bookmarks without a third party application (well, easily, that is) or manual intervention.

But I have found the freeware SafariSort http://www.safarisort.com to be the perfect solution. Works as advertised and problem free.

Nice, if it works but it doesn't on mine.
Placed both App and Scripts in Applications as instructed and I get this:

Is there a way to manually sort bookmarks, This is ridiculous. Every update is major headaches.

Use the keys "option/alt+command+b" (or menu selection Bookmarks>Edit Bookmarks) to open the edit bookmarks page and then drag the bookmarks to the order you desire.

If you're using iCloud synced bookmarks good luck with any of these methods, they probably won't work half the time. Your other devices will end up writing back over any changes you made.
