How do I backup my hard drive?

I would like to backup my hd before I send in my macbook pro to applecare. I have a external hooked up, so Ill just save it on there. I tried using disk utility to accomplish this, but then I try to save the macintosh HD it says resources are busy or something. Thanks

CCC will also do the trick.

Carbon Copy Clone or something of the sort. It is what I use to backup my HDD

Should work just fine via Rosetta. You should take into account the new partition scheme to boot as well.
