How do I turn myself from a macrumors newbie to a higher level? Also, so people have a weird # in that location like macrumors 65816. What does that mean? Thanks. 😀

How do user titles work? from the MacRumors FAQ

User titles are based on post counts:

Newbie => 0 - 29 posts
Member => 30 posts
Regular => 100 posts (minimum required to post in the Politics, Religion, Social Issues forum)
6502 => 250 posts (minimum required for access to the Marketplace forum)
6502a => 500 posts (minimum required to have an avatar)
...

Yes, but spamming the board to get your count up is a good way to get banned. Contribute and hang out - let the user titles happen in time.

Yes.
A reply is a post, because if only created threads would count as posts, I would have zero posts, but as I replied more than 5000 times to already existing threads, I have more than 5000 posts.
