I have my lock screen the way I want it with a picture, font, etc. When I go into wallpaper and choose customize under my home screen, I can't figure out a way to find all the default backgrounds. The only thing I can do is pair with my lock screen or choose one of my photos. I tried from jiggly mode but that only seemed to let me change settings of the photo already selected. What the heck am I missing?!

You're not missing anything. That's just how it has been ever since they revamped the way wallpapers work in iOS 16.

You can either have:
  • Stock wallpaper for Lock Screen and same stock wallpaper for Home Screen
  • Stock wallpaper for Lock Screen and photo for Home Screen
  • Photo for Lock Screen and same/different photo for Home Screen
You cannot have:
  • One stock wallpaper for Lock Screen and different stock wallpaper for Home Screen
  • Photo for Lock Screen and stock wallpaper for Home Screen
For the last two, you can work around them by finding the wallpaper online, and then set it as a photo wallpaper for the Home Screen. You do miss out on the animation/weather/time of day effects some of them have though.

At least I'm not a complete idiot. Funny how certain things are designed like that. I don't think I've ever used the animated type so I'll just Google something. Thanks!
