I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that this is possible with iOS 6? Can anyone help me out?
Yep, I'm wondering the same thing. Haven't had any luck yet.
Not being ignorant here, just curious, why would you want to?
Seems like @me.com is less to type, more personal and simpler.
Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > (Your iCloud account) > Account > Mail (at the bottom) > Email (under "iCloud Account Information")
Tap the iCloud.com email address.
Hmm, iCloud.com is not listed for me? All that's listed is my me.com address and an alias?
I cant even click on my @me account at the last step. Its not even highlighted.
Ah. Apparently it's being rolled out gradually over the next few weeks:
This was posted in September 19. So it should show up for you soon.
Just keep trying to send mail to your iCloud.com email and when it works the email will show up in your me.com mailbox and you can start using it.
Mine has worked for weeks and Apple never notified me.
Thanks for the help guys!
Is this something that everyone has to do if we have a iCloud account?
I really hope not. I've got email@example.com and I think that's great (actually its an alias on a main account but I hope and pray one day to be able just to make this my main apple ID and also change my old iTunes account to this)
