Click on the :apple: in the top left of the screen choose Dock> Position of left. :)

Also there is a program called "Docker", google it, its free and its sweet!
 
Type the following into terminal:

defaults write com.apple.dock no-glass -bool 'TRUE'
killall Dock


To undo it, type:

defaults delete com.apple.dock no-glass
killall Dock
 
Also, note that these are just Apple's versions of the Dock -- there are many ways to customize your Dock. Dockulicious has a good collection available for download.
 
Using this dock on SL, but I didn't use any app for that.
Instead, I manually replaced the dock files :eek:
