How do I clear recent searches from Safari?

It only appears on the list if you have items in your search history. If you clear history, it will also clear the search list. If you have a search history and that still doesn't appear, try resetting and relaunching Safari. Be aware that suggested searches will appear as you type a search. Those are not part of your search history.

Yeah, I wasn't referring to suggested searches.

It seems odd that search history comes up without the option to clear search history.
