In a van down by the river
Is there a way to connect 4 HomePod minis to my 4K (2nd gen) Apple TV so that all 4 play at once? If so, can someone walk me through the set up process? I already have 2 connected (as a stereo pair) and can’t figure out how to connect the other two.

Thanks for any help you can give.

  1. Open Settings
    Settings
    on Apple TV 4K.
  2. Go to Video and Audio > Audio Output, then select the HomePod (or HomePod stereo pair).
Note: This setting routes all sound, including navigation clicks, from Apple TV to your HomePod. Only HomePod speakers can be selected for default audio output and home theatre sound. If you temporarily select other speaker options (such as HomePod mini or other wireless speakers), home theatre sound and navigation clicks are not supported and your speaker selection resets after Apple TV is put to sleep.

If I understand you correctly, once I stop watching a program etc, the HomePod mini that is connected through the temporary connection will need to be reset every time like I had to do before I got the second gen 4K Apple TV. I was hoping I was missing something and didn’t have to reset the extra HomePod each time.

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, it will reset the connection after Apple TV sleeps.
