Hi I want to convert a quicktime file into MP4 as I've been told that is the only way to get the file small enough to email, but I have no idea how to do this!

Also, if possible I need to do it without downloading any new software as my mac is not connected to the internet.

my first comment, buy quicktime Pro, its the best.

recommendation without downloading anything: import the movie into iMovie, go to the menu "SHARE" and export the movie, you can pretty much select the size of the movie (somwhat if you have imovie8, the imovie before is waayyy better for that kinda stuff).
