how do I copy dvd and put background music on it?

How do i copy a original family DVD that works on the DVD player to another writable DVD and put background music on it and have it work on the dvd player.

As of now original DVD has no sound on it.

Rip the original DVD, and keep settings high to minimize quality loss. You can go straight to iDVD and import both the ripped mp4, and add a soundtrack. Or, you can place the resulting mp4 into iMovie, where you can add a soundtrack and do any other editing. Then export to iDVD or equivalent.

Rip it with MakeMKV. Add music in iMovie. Burn using iDVD.

iMovie can not open the file . mKV

Ah, didnt know that. I never use iMovie. Just remux it to MP4 then, using Subler, to avoid quality loss.
