How do I do a screen capture?

I see people post a still screen capture of a website, how do I do this? Thanks.

Grab (under Utilities) works really well....at least for me IMHO.

Grab (under Utilities) works really well....at least for me IMHO.

But Grab takes more steps to actually take screenshots, though it gives you the ability to store the screenshots directly where you want instead of moving the screenshots via Finder.
But I am more used to the keyboard shortcuts anyway.

Hit command, shift and 4. That will do it.

apple + shift + 3 will take a full screen shot.
apple + shift + 4 will allow you to drag a window to specify an area of the screen you want to capture
