How do i make VLC player as my default player for opening all videos?

I like qtime interface but it cant play all of the vid formats

1. Select a video file
2. Get Info
3. Open With:
4. Select VLC from the drop down
5. Change all
6. Rinse repeat for other video file types
7. ??????
8. PROFIT!

get the info of a video file and open the "Open with:" area and select vlc.app then hit the change all.... button.

You can also use something like RCDefaultApp

There is a great preference pane that sorts all of your default worries in one easy place.

It is called 'default apps' and you can get it Here. It is very good.
