19,1 iMac macOS 13.5.2/Stage Manager:
With Stage Manager ON, how do I drag one app item into a second different app item? Stage Manager displays one app at a time, so I don't see how to drag to another app window as app windows close and reopen one app at a time. Do I shut off Stage Manager?

If you want two (or more) window showing at the same time instead of 1, with one of the windows displayed, just click and drag from the side the second window somewhere around the first. You can adjust them. They will stay that way, even if you click on another window, until you click a window's little green dot, where it gives you the choice "remove from set". You can also just close one of the windows.

I have the same problem as the OP, and aware of your method, but it seems clunky to me. I prefer to just turn SM off from the Control Centre menu item….seems just as quick by the time you have undone the SM stack in your method.…unless it is one you want to use regularly of course.

I just realized that I included Stage Manager in the (I keep forgetting the name of the icons at the top of the screen, rats!) anyway, its no trouble to turn SM off up there. I appreciate you guys responding.
