My desktop has 2 harddrives, 1 is running osx and the other is just NTFS with a partition of Windows and all my media files. I'd like to get into the media files on the NTFS harddrive from my Macbook over the network but it's not working.

It's not showing up with standard file sharing so I tried SMB and it will get me into login, it will show me the drives available but that's as far as I can get. Once I click the hard drive I want to connect to, it will say Failure to connect to server.

I dont know why this is, I have all the right permissions.

you might have to be booted from the windows side and then share it. Mac OSX might have trouble sharing an NTFS volume because natively it can only read from it but not write to it.
