I downloaded a .RAR file and once extracted didn't see the files, I put it on an SD card and extracted it there and the same issue, but on my PS3 the folder and files show up normally as there and taking up space, but I can't see them on my Mac. How can I reveal the files on mac so I can actually use them? Also, I try using the find function (APL+F) to no avail either, once I reveal them can I find them using the find function since this was months ago and I don't remember where I extracted them.

Have you tried another app to un-rar the file. I use UnRarX which is one of the closest things to WinRAR on Mac for unzipping RAR archives.

There is a keyboard shortcut to show ALL hidden files on the mac.
Command Shift Period (.) Beware deleting ANY hidden files on a mac - you might just brick it.

Personally I've never come across a Rar file with hidden files. Are you sure its from a safe source ?

Should be, just a bunch of FCP assets. Though not obtained in reputable ways admittedly.

I have FastTasks 2 Analyser on my Mac and it keeps telling me I have a file (.3FAD0F65-FC6E-4889-B975-B96CBF807B78) that's under Library/Preferences/ but I cannot locate it to delete it (it belongs to the MacKeeper application - I never ran it, just installed it and then uninstalled it after reading horrible things about the app).

I've tried going through Terminal to reveal all hidden files but it still doesn't show up.

Any ideas?

Thank you!
Jenny
