H harpy macrumors member Original poster May 1, 2010 #1 I've downloaded the iBooks app and I have some epub files that I got from outside of iTunes. How do I get them onto iTunes and into iBooks? Or is iBooks a completely closed environment?

I illutionz macrumors 65816 May 1, 2010 #4 Highlight your files and drag it to iTunes library and it will have a new section called "Books" with your books in there. Then you can sync them to your iPad... Similar to if you create your own ringtones..

gwynne macrumors 68000 May 1, 2010 #5 Don't forget to check out calibre free ebook mgmt software (all platforms). I find it easier to organize all the metadata and cover images in calibre before moving them to iTunes.
