How do I get IOS 8 and X to talk on Numbers

I've been using the free beta version of Yosemite for a while now and like it just fine, however I really missed my numbers app being able to sync with one another when I started using the beta version. Now that we are now on IOS 8 I thought they would sync up again, but they have not.

What have I done wrong?

Can someone point me in the right direction?


ETA: I see that Yosemite is not quite ready for icloud drive. Hence my problem. Boohoo!
