Meh. I find the Slide Over function to be the most useful form of Multitasking and the Air 1 supports it just fine. As more developers put support for SlideOver into apps, there are very few situations I'd see myself preferring Split View for, but to each his own.

I wouldn't call out the original Air so harshly. This is one missing feature and for a good physical reason. The People who whine because they didn't enable the feature would be the same ones whining because of poor performance and lag trying to run two apps at once because of the Air 1's 1GB of RAM. I was impressed Apple gave the Air 1 any of the new multitasking features.

So far I have been pleasantly surprised by iOS 9 on the original Air. Big improvements in responsiveness and all the new features working very well across the board. Feels like Apple gave the Air a lot of Love in this update.
