Long story but I ended up using "app zapper" to delete the appstore. I realized after the fact that it cannot be deleted and reinstalled because it's part of Maverick. Stupid me. Now I'm in trouble. I cannot reinstall Mavericks because I need app store and I do not have access to the app store because I screwed it up with appzapper.

What do i do?

you could reinstall Mavericks from the Recovery HD, it'll just install over the top of your current installation and reinstall the App Store.

Forgive my ignorance but how would I do that? I upgraded to Mavericks from Snow Leopard if that matters.

Thanks.

Restart your computer and while it is booting up hold command r key together until you see Apple logo. That way, your computer will boot up to recovery partition and you will see the option to reinstall OS X without wiping your hard drive. It will download from the internet though, it may take some time.
