I have a macbook and i hooked it up to my 37 inch HDTV. I did that with a HDMI to DVI cable and a DVI to Mini Display Port adapter. I plugged the HDMI into my tv and the DVI end into the DVI side of the adapter then the mini display port into my macbook.
Look great.

The thing i need help with is how do i get my audio to come out my TV's speakers and not my macbook's speakers?

thanks!

Mini Display Port doesn't provide audio. If you want a digital connection, you can get a TOSLINK optical cable with a 3.5mm adapter (assuming your TV has TOSLINK in). Otherwise, 3.5mm stereo to RCA L/R.
