how do i get my HD on desktop to show space used/space available?

i had done it before but i restarted my macbook and ive forgotten. thx

In Finder, go to Menu: View>Show View Options and select Show Item Info

Right click on the drive, select Get Info

Right-click on your desktop > Show View Options > check "Show Item Info"
