Well I tried using my own picture for my external hard drive, and the result looked awful as you will see, so how do I get the old icon back? :)

Thanks.

To get any original/default icon back just select the icon in Get Info (look for the blue glow) and then press backspace (like your erasing the icon). Cheers!

  1. Highlight the "Macintosh HD" or "Bootcamp" icon and use command-I or File > Get Info.
  2. Click the icon so it has a blue box around it
  3. Use command-C or Edit > Copy to copy the icon
  4. Highlight the Maxtor OneTouch and use command-I or File > Get Info.
  5. Click the icon so it has a blue box around it
  6. Use command-V or Edit > Paste

Edit: ^^ Oh yeah ^^, you can also just delete the new icon and it will replace it by default...
