I just picked up a Macbook Pro 13 to try out.

but how do I get my iPhone stuff onto it?

syncing anything on iTunes gives you nuke option that everything on the iPhone will be deleted.

iTunes help

You need to authorize your new computers iTunes with the same username and password that you used to get all your "stuff". Once the new machine is authorized it will work fine.

I did and it still only gave me the nuclear option.

I found another thread where people copy the folder over from the other computer.

Is that the only solution?

Do a search on the iPhone forum for this issue, there are several threads on how to get it done.

From memory, if you plug your iPhone in to iTunes, then right click (option click) on your iPhone name on the left side of iTunes, then click 'transfer purchases'. Once that is done, right click again and back up your phone.

Using the above method will not transfer non iTunes music....
